When Riley and Simon sit down to do their homework Cooper always tries to join in. He takes their books, pencils and crayons. So, we put him in his chair and gave him his own homework to do.
Riley and Simon are in love with skiing and that makes Jason and I so happy. We live minutes from a ski hill, my brother and sister-in-law live in Whistler, it is a perfect family sport for us. On top of their Tuesday lessons Sunday will also become ski day. This Sunday, my mom was still visiting from Cooper's party so we took advantage of the extra pair of hands and Jason and I headed out with Riley and Simon while my mom watched a few runs and hung out in the chalet with Coop.
We started out on the magic carpet hill
Riley is able to make all her turns and stop on her own
Simon was working hard on skiing without an edgie wedgie
Riley quickly moved onto the t-bar hill and was riding the t-bar and going down the hill all by herself. I kept asking her to make her stops and she was annoyed with me because she wanted to go fast.
Simon will not be out skied by his sister and with a little help he skied the t-bar hill as well.
I am looking forward to their lesson today to see how much more improvement is made. I'm sure they will both be skiing circles around me in no time...
On Cooper's actual birthday we spent the day celebrating as a family. He woke up to his birthday present and happily banged the morning away.
During his morning nap Riley, Simon and I baked him cupcakes. After his nap we made our way to an indoor playground. He loves to climb the play structure and go through all the tunnels. My back and knees aren't to fond of it but, you gotta do what you gotta do
Back home for afternoon nap and off to take Riley to dance class. After dance we had Cooper's favourite for dinner blueberry and banana pancakes. He devoured three of them.
He was not to thrilled with the birthday hat.
Nor was Newman
We sang Happy Birthday and blew out the candles.
We were ready for him to dive in....but, just like Riley, he wanted nothing to do with it. He would dip his finger in the icing and wipe it on his shirt.
I tried to get him to take a bite.....no luck.
He preferred to show us all his tricks, pig noses, so big and all done.
Maybe on Saturday during his party he will dig into his cake...
