Dino Boy

We have been on the hunt for a dinosaur costume for Simon for weeks now....no luck. Our friend Nancy was nice enough to lend us one that her son wore last year and Nee Nee arrived today with one that she got for him. He had a great time trying them both on and pretending to eat us.

Here's our dino in one of the costumes.

In the beginning.....

Well, we have started....finally!!!! The office is being moved out and baby stuff is being moved in. We have a ton of work to do, patch holes, prime, paint, set up etc.... but at least we have a start.

This mess will eventually become the nursery.....Jason got a little overzealous the other night and set up the crib.

Thanksgiving Dinner

On Sunday after the great cottage weekend we headed to Toronto for Thanksgiving dinner with Jason's family. It was a great dinner with all the fixins. Simon enjoyed some time telling G.G. and G.G.2 (Great grandparents) about his life on the farm and all his animals.

Both kids snuggled up with G.G. for a book.

The dinner was so good it left us wanting more...we are going to go and buy a turkey tomorrow and have another turkey dinner...with LOTS of leftovers, YUMMY!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a very nice Thanksgiving Weekend. On Friday, Grandpa came to pick up Riley and Simon and took them apple picking. They had a wonderful and tasty morning together. Thank you Grandpa!!!!

Friday after Jason worked we packed up the van and headed to the cottage. Grandpa came with us for the weekend too. Friday evening we had dinner, unpacked and did some hill running and playing inside. The excitment of the night came at dinner time, Riley had finished eating and was playing Cinderella. She came to the dinner table and in this little tiny voice said "mommy, I just saw a tiny, tiny, tiny.." She didn't even finish her sentence and a mouse ran across the floor. YIKES!!!!!! I am deathly afraid of mice and rats. I would have much rather seen a snake, spider, bat, you name it. I scooped up Riley and jumped up on the kitchen chair. Then the mouse hunters went to work.

Saturday was fantastic. Riley and Grandpa made us all a great blueberry pancake breakfast.

Relaxed in our jammies and read books.

We went for a walk to look at the leaves and enjoy the beautiful weather.

We ran up and down the driveway.

Had a yummy snack.

We raked a HUGE pile of leaves and jumped into them. This was the highlight of the weekend for the kids, they loved it.

Riley kept asking to go swimming. We told her that the water was too cold....she was determined. She asked if she could dunk her feet, next thing we knew she was sitting in the lake, jogging suit and all!!!!

And even humoured me by putting on their new clothes for a photo in leaves.

Bath Time Fun!!!

Our little monkey's in the bath today....

We sure will be sad when we can no longer bath them together.

One of those moments....

Our bedtime routine when Jason is home is always the same, I read to Riley, Simon usually joins us for a story or two. Jason reads to Simon and then puts him into bed, and I put Riley into bed. We then switch and go give kisses and 'tiny hugs' as Simon calls it, to the other child. Jason often lays down with Riley and rubs her back for a few minutes.

Last night, I was working away taking our office apart in order to switch it the baby's room and no Jason. I gave him some time before going in there, it was only 7:30 and this is what I found.....

I love that she has her arm around his neck. So cute!

Look At This Face...

This sweet, innocent, absolutely gorgeous face is casing me many sleepless nights. Our dear Simon has been making visits to our bed in the middle of the night. I am so exhausted that I do exactly what your are not "supposed" to, pull him into bed with us. He does go right back to sleep in our bed but the problem is he sleeps ON TOP OF ME!!!!! This certainly doesn't make for a restful night for me. This wouldn't be such a big deal but...there's a baby coming in just a little over three months.

We both know how we can probably "fix" this....get up and put him back in his own bed, even when we screams and cries. Good theory, the problem, I am too tired and sick in the evenings and nights. Jason goes to practice every night and doesn't get home to close midnight and is up by 5:30 to leave for work by 6:30. On weekends he is away at tournaments...this leaves me solely responsible....URGH!!!! Hopefully I can get my act together in the next couple of weeks. Wish me luck.

We Will Miss You Sadie

Today is a very sad day for my family, Sadie our family dog for the past 16 years is now in heaven. We got Sadie when I was in OAC and she has been a terrific dog and companion for all of us but especially for my mom. She will always be remembered for her princess attitude of having to be hand fed(she was so beyond dog bowls), her funny fear of garbage bags and driving through tunnels, her love hate relationship with Newman, sleeping in a fridge box, her plastic My Little Pony doll which somehow lasted years of being played with, attacking pillows when she wanted to play, sleeping on your head in thunderstorms or firecrackers and being so cuddly and snuggly. She will be missed greatly. We love you Sadie.

Happy Third Birthday Devyn!!!!

Today the kids and I went to Devyn's third birthday party. We all had a great time playing, eating and decorating cookies. You know it was a good party when both kids pass out in the car minutes after leaving. I foolishly forgot my camera at home but was able to get a photo of our two party penguins after nap.

Thanks for including us in your special day Devyn!!!!!

Pregnacy Update

I went to the doctors yesterday afternoon for my last pre-natal appointment with my doctor. I spoke to him about what was happening with my 'cramps' and he told me that women who have had other births can have Braxton Hicks contractions early on and they can be hard. I am glad that that is all it is but not looking forward to months of this pain. I also told him about my soreness and after pushing around a little and sending me through the roof, I have a pulled legament. There are two legaments that hold your uterus into to place and the one on my right is pulled. Finally, we spoke of my legs and the fact that I am getting sick again, he basically told me to deal with the sickness, it's part of pregnancy and that my legs are one of the worst cases he has seen but....suck it up, it's part of what I have to deal with.

The other part to the appointment he told me that if the baby continues to grow at this rate to expect a big 9 or 10 pounder....OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am getting another ultrasound this month just to be sure and then start my OB appointments the beginning of November.....yikes, it's getting closer.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we spent a fabulous morning with our friends the Parker Family at Rounds Ranch Pumpkin Patch. We all had great time and the weather thankfully held out for us.

Fun at the pumpkin patch with Lilly, Katie and Adam

In bed and New Car...

These topics aren't related to one another but.....

It is 7:00 on Thursday night and I am in bed, been here for over an hour now. Most of you will know how hard this in bed thing is for me to do, I have self-diagnosed ADHD. At dinner tonight, we were just sitting down, when I was brought to my knees in pain. Not sure what was happening, it came on, went away for a second then came back full force. I was unable to move or breathe. After a few minutes the pain went away a bit to allow me to sit in a chair. I was quickly escorted up to my bed and told to stay here. I lay here now with cramps and enjoying every little movement I feel.

Now the second topic......

Today we picked up our new car....new to us car. Thank goodness and thank you for all your work Sadlon's. Life for the past few months has been difficult with only one car. I did attempt to take a picture of it but the camera batteries died. Maybe tomorrow.

I am off to continue hanging out in my bed.....
