Sleeping Angel
Each night that I go and check on Simon when he is sleeping I can not help but smile. Look at my angel....

Getting it done...
Another busy and productive weekend in the Hubbard household. We spent some time getting some shopping done, framed some of the kids artwork, bought and assembled a dresser for the baby, washed baby toys, bunting bags, nursing pillows, all of the laundry is done and put away (now I just have to stay on top of it this week) and I made another meal to freeze.
I have been working on making some meals to freeze for when the baby comes home, I have made chili, shepperd's pie and baked beans. My good friend Kara is spoiling us as well and has made us stew and split pea soup for our stash. Thank you Kara!!!
All this work and we still managed to have a little fun. Jason and kids went for dinner at Grandmas and Grandpas. I went out for an incredible dinner with Nancy and Kara and to see the movie Bride Wars.
Here's the nursery. We will wait until the babe arrives to add decor.

Some of the kids framed artwork. Now I have to go and get little plaques made to add to the mating with the name of the artwork and the kids ages.

Jason is off to Toronto this afternoon and evening...here's hoping no labour starts while he is gone. 7 days to go.
I will be gearing up for a busy week. The kids winter activities start this week, I have doctors appointments, pre-op, non-stress tests, belly shots with our photographer and a mere 24 things left on our to do list.

Our Day...
We had a great day planned but as you could see things didn't work out for us.....

Our friends Christine, Katie and Adam came over for a play date this morning. They arrived and Simon was very excited to see them, he ran into the playroom and tripped. He hit his chin off of the piano stool and there was blood....lots of blood. I picked him up and he turned to Christine and I with his lip curled in and it was a wide, wide cut.
Jason had the van at school with him today as he was working on a few things with it as our lease is up. I had to make the emergency call and have him come home from work and take us to the hospital. Grandpa met us there to lend his helping hand.
We waited 4 hours and by the time the doctor saw him he thought that it was closing up well on it's own and thought we could get away without stitches....music to our ears. He has terry strips on right now and we were sent home with another package to change on our own.
Let's hope this is our last hospital visit for a while....well for another 9 days anyway:)

Final 10 days
We are on the final 10 day stretch of this pregnancy and we are very excited to meet the babe. I have been feeling very tired and sore. I am looking forward to having this baby but at the same time it makes me a little sad. This will be the last miracle for us and knowing that makes me a little sad....not sad enough to do it again though.
We have our professional belly shots booked for next week but we took a few tonight too.

Quote of the day.....
I went to get my pre-baby hair cut today and when I picked Simon up from school he said to me "oh, nice hair mom-mom. You look like a princess."
What a boy!

Heart Melting Moment
On the way home tonight from Welland Simon fell asleep in the car. He woke after about an hour or so and he was cranky!!!! All we heard from the back of the van was Riley singing "You Are So Beautiful" to him....is was so...beautiful.
Weekend Events
It was another jam packed weekend for our family. Friday morning we headed to McMaster Children's Hospital to visit with Alivia, Chantal and Craig. It was very sad to see all of those poor little peanuts suffering like that. Alivia has gone through a lot already and is going to go through a lot more over the next 8 -10 months. The tumour in her stomach is stage 4 cancer and measures 12x12x8. The original plan was to start chemo mid-week but the plan changed and she started today. She will have to go through 8 rounds of chemo, each round lasts 21 days. I can't imagine what Chantal and Craig are going through. I can't look at Riley or Simon without getting teary eyed thinking that it easily could be us. I know in my heart that she will pull through this with flying colours. I love you peanut.
After Hamilton we continued on to Welland. Jason was coaching at a volleyball tournament at Niagara College all weekend. My mom and I got up Saturday morning and headed to Niagara Falls. First stop was the outlet mall...of course my kids got spoiled. Both got new flannel sheets and Riley got a new blanket. Nee Nee let them pick whatever they wanted so now we have sheets with cars on them and sheets with Disney princess on them. I certainly would not have made those choices but they were both so happy and excited. I couldn't put a damper on things by suggesting something a bit more stylish. Thank you Nee Nee, they love their new sheets...maybe Simon will stay in them past 5:00 a.m.
After our little shopping trip we went to the butterfly conservatory. I love it there, so calm and peaceful.
Trying to be still so a butterfly lands on them.

Butterfly success!

A rare photo with me in it.

Our afternoon was filled with lunch at the flying saucer, naps and visiting Memere in the hospital. In the evening Jason and I snuck out for a little date...we both realize that it will be a long, long time before we get any adult time in once the babe arrives.
Sunday we got back it with going to the gym to see daddy coach, shopping again...this time for me...I needed to shop for all those unmentionables that one needs after giving birth:)out for lunch again and visiting with Memere. We arrived back in Barrie at 7:00 just on time for bed. It was a fun weekend and we both realized on the way home that next time we see my family we will be a family of 5!!!

Check, Check and Double Check...
>
Things around our household are slowly getting checked off the never ending to do list.
1. Powder room is painted
2. New light fixture in powder room
3. Bedroom painted
4. Chair rail complete in babies room
5. Dimmer switch in babies room
6. New and heavenly shower head installed in our ensuite
We still have A LOT to get done and 17 days to do them in.
I worked all morning in our playroom. I have every last bin organized and labelled. Not one dino bone or princess shoe is out of place. Every toy has batteries that work. How long do you think this will last?

Happy New Year
We spent New Years Eve with some friends at the Sadlon household. We had a great dinner, drinks and major playtime.
Devyn, Riley and Simon enjoy dinner together

Dress up time...Riley in the cowboy boots and Simon in the hat.

We headed home at 10:00 to put the kids to bed. Jason and I attempted to stay up until midnight....he was successful. I did see New Years...it just happened to be in Newfoundland....10:30 here.
