Raptors

Today Riley, Cooper and I went to Riley's friend Laurel's house for a play date. Jason, Simon and Grandpa headed down to the Raptors game.

They took the subway.

Saw some sights.

Played some hockey.....this is what Simon says was the best part of the day.

Watched the game.

And even went out onto the court to throw a free throw.

PLAY BALL

Simon has been part of the Play Ball program this winter. Today was his final session. We are happy with the program, it really teaches taking turns, co-operation, following specific directions, ball handling skills and was a lot of fun.

He was so proud of his certificate and golden medal. After getting it he said "look mommy, I can't wait to show dad!"

Our baby girl is 4

Riley is officially four years old and she has told everyone we have seen for the past two days that she is no longer three. In fact, she told us yesterday that she is now almost five. We can not believe we have a four year old...time has flown by. We are so proud of her, she is empathetic, happy, friendly, polite, smart, funny, creative, artistic, dramatic...and I can go on and on.

Last night we had her birthday dinner with Grandpa and Grandma. She was able to chose what we ate and again we had noodles, bread, butter, cupcakes and ice cream sundaes. She is an easy one to please.

When she got home from school I asked her to go upstairs and get changed...this is the party outfit she chose.

Simon and I made the cupcakes while Riley was still at school in the afternoon. Simon was in charge of the Smarties....many more went into his mouth then on the cupcakes.

Riley also requested party hats for everyone...including Cooper.

Blowing out the candles.

Present time. Jason and I got her tickets to go see Disney On Ice and a night in a hotel in Toronto over March Break. They were watching a video clip of the performance. Simon and Cooper got her the guitar and Grandma and Grandpa got her a Leapfrog computer system.

It was a great day for all of us and made was made that much more special when Riley said to Jason and I "I want to make you a beautiful picture because you made my birthday so fun. Thank you mom-mom and dada."

Meet Cooper Night

Two of my bestest friends who I happen to work with organized a meet Cooper night at school. It was nice to visit with some of the kids I taught and to see some of my colleagues. Once again Cooper was spoiled...

Thank you Kara and Nancy we are so lucky to have you in our lives.

Smiles and Coos

Cooper has started to smile and coo at us this past week. I desperately tried to catch one of his smiles on film...no such luck. I did get a photo of him and Jason in deep conversation.

A party fit for a princess

Saturday was Riley's 4th Birthday Party. Riley knew exactly what she wanted for her party...noodles with butter, bread, fruit, cupcakes, princess napkins, pink and purple plates, a pink and purple table cloth, pinata and crafts. We were able to fufill every request.

We had 12 kids and their parents along with Nee Nee, Papa, Grandma and Grandpa over to party. Thank good ness we only allowed her to choose 4 friends.....oops:)
The birthday girl all dressed and ready to party.

The cupcakes I made for the birthday party. Paula, I tried to make a giant cupcake....I failed miserably...you have to let me know your secret.

Craft time...tiara's and wands for the princes and princesses.

Lunch Time.

Pinata!!!!!

Cupcakes.

Time for the princess to be spoiled with tons of presents, with a little help from some friends.

We were so proud of Riley when she was opening gifts she was so excited over every single one and thanked each person after opening their gift.

Loves these P.J.'s so much she had to wear them for the rest of the party.

After everyone went home and we all had a little rest the gift kept coming.... another complete spoiling from Nee Nee.

And...here's what Cooper did all day.

Thank you everyone for making Riley's day so special.
