Simon's Christmas Concert

Simon's school had a Christmas Concert on Tuesday night. We were so excited to see him up there being a "rock star." All of the kids did such a great job.

They sang Dreidle, Feed the World, Celebrate Kwanzaa, Roo Roo the Red Nosed Kanga, Mele Kalikimaka, Holly Jolly Christmas and Chinese New Year: A Dragon Dance.

I have video of Simon singing all his songs on his own but I'm having trouble uploading the video. I will keep trying because it is the cutest thing you will ever see.

Cooper enjoyed himself too, clapping the entire way through.

Simon - We are so proud of you and the little man you have become. You make us proud everyday and we love sharing all of your accomplishments with the world. It was amazing how confident you were up there on the stage being one of the youngest in the school. You have a smile that lights up the room. We love you.

Laundry Room.....

Some progress has been made....

Paint. Chalkboard paint. Washer and dryer reconnected. Built-ins started.

Celebrate Good Times....

All dressed and ready to party!!!!!!

It was a party weekend. Party number one was for Simon at his friend Campbell's house. Campbell lives a couple of doors down from us. It was a fun party with about 15 three and four year old boys....Campbell's parent are very brave....or drank heavily before the party. Happy Birthday Campbell!

Riley was not invited to this party and Jason was in Toronto for a meeting all day so our friends Mel, Trevor and Laurel had Riley for part of the afternoon. Riley was excited about this play date because as she reports she is going to marry Laurel one day. Thank you Mel, Trevor and Laurel.

After Campbell's party we all headed to our friend Owens party. We all had a great time together celebrating Owen's special day. Everyone took a whack at the pinata.

The birthday boy blowing out his candles. Happy Birthday Owen!

On Sunday we all went to our friend Adams birthday party at the Rec Centre. Another fantastic time had by all. Happy Birthday Adam!

We are so blessed to have such amazing friends in our lives.

December 1st

You know what December first means......

The first snow fall

Tuesday morning we woke to a little bit of snow on the ground. The kids went crazy and we were out there in our snowsuits by 7:00a.m.

Making angels

Going for sleigh rides

And building a snowman. I didn't get a picture of the finished product because Cooper knocked it over and then it started raining. Glad we got out there so early because by 9:30 it was almost melted.

Bursting With Proudness!!!!!

On Friday was Riley's parent-teacher conference. It was a neat experience for us to be on the other side of the interview desk. Her teacher said nothing but good things about her. Her conference summary was all positive including words like cooperative, happy, kind, friendly, helpful, responsible, independent, can be relied on, excellent listener, careful..... On the wall in the hallway there were level 3 and 4 (what we knew as an A and B when we were in school) writing samples, Riley had one of her pieces of writing displayed there. We are so proud of her progress, we are so thankful to her teacher for making this such an amazing experience for her, she is eager to learn, she loves school and she is always looking for more. We are so proud.

Laundry Room Progress

We are making progress in our laundry room reno. It is slow but we expected that.

Most of the cupboards are sitting in my living room ready to go. For now the boxes make great colouring spots.

And, climbing spots. Yes, clothing is optional in our house....and so is doing up the snaps of a onesie

The closet has been taken out, the walls repaired and the first coat of paint is on. The colour is off in these photos, it is a beige, yellow colour. We are not sure we are sold on it yet. Second coat of paint goes on tonight....hopefully.

She is growing up....

and there is NOTHING I can do to stop it....that makes me sad, really sad. We reached another milestone of sorts, Riley went to her first birthday party that I was not allowed to attend with her. I tried, believe me, I offered my assistance at the party...twice...ok maybe three times, but it was not needed. It was a P.J. party and I dropped my precious baby girl off at a house with 13 other little girls.... screaming little girls. As soon as I got in the car I called Jason and cried, that wasn't enough so I called my mom and cried to her too. MY BABY!!!!!!!!

When I picked her up she was happy, excited and all in one piece. She had a fantastic time and my house was spotless when she got home....I had to do something to keep my mind off of her.

Meet Dora

Riley got a hamster named Dora last week. Let me tell you, hamster cages and accessories have come a long way since my hamster days with Odis the hamster. After taking over an hour to put the cage together, Dora happily sleeps in her little house.... which she only comes out of at night. She (we think it's a she) rocks those tunnels and spinning wheels all night long. Hopefully one day soon Jason and I will be brave enough to reach in that house and take her out for the kids to pet her. Those ferocious looking teeth are a bit daunting.

Santa's Elves

Two of Santa's Evles have been very hard at work creating....
