Q.O.T.D. (Quote Of The Day)

Part of the reason I do this blog is to have a record of our family for the kids. It is our hope that when they are older they can look back at this and see how proud we are of them and all of the crazy adventures we have been on. With that in mind, Jason and I have been talking about posting some of the things the kids say so one day we can all look back and laugh.

So here it goes.....Quotes Of The Day....I have a few today.

1. Simon was home from school for the day with me because of his mystery rash (which he still has) and I was on my hands and knees washing the floor. He came over to me and said,

Simon: Mom you're just like Cinderella.

Me: Oh, thanks Si.

Simon: The one in the rags that does the chores not the one in the pretty dress.

2. We were all sitting at the dinner table having our dinner. Simon got up to go to the washroom. We continued on with our conversation. Simon came back to the table and said,

Simon: Excuse me, are you nuts?

After we stopped laughing we explained to him why hat wasn't really appropriate.

3. Jason was tucking Riley into bed at night.

Jason: Good night Riley. I love you.

Riley: I love you too daddy, more than my arms can reach.

Holidays....

..are all about

taking three hour naps together,

baking

and playing Rock Band in your P.J.'s

We have done a few other things, and plan to do a lot more but our holidays so far have been perfect.

Pinkalicious

Riley, Kara and Devyn and I went to see the play Pinkalicious on Saturday. It was such a cute little production about a girl who eats too many pink cupcakes and she turns pink. It was filled with songs, dance and of course the colour pink.

Sharp Dressed Man

Simon has been asking to wear a suit and tie for a couple of weeks now. Well, last night we had an occasion, G.G.'s Christmas party.

Our handsome boy. I'm telling you that smile, those eyes, that face, melts my heart.

Yes, that is a rash all over his face. We nor the Dr. have any idea what is causing this rash. It is not from an illness but what is causing it? We don't know.

Dreidel

The song that never ends.......

The pink sunglasses....can't explain.

How many steps does a baby need to take to be considered walking?

O Christmas Tree

Monday night was tree decorating night in our house. The definition of insanity must be decorating a tree with three kids, four and under. It was a bit crazy at times and we have only said "no touching Cooper" six thousand times in the past hour.

What A Weekend!

Friday evening we had the Promoli family over for dinner. Adam and Jason were roommates through university and he has recently moved to Barrie with his family. We haven't seen Adam and Julie since our wedding and it was amazing how closely our lives parallel each others. They also have three kids, two boys and one girl. All of our kids are about the same age AND Cooper and their youngest were born on the exact same day. We are so happy that they live so close now and we are looking forward to many, many more dinner dates.

Saturday morning we headed out on the Great Christmas Tree Hunt. Drysdale Tree Farm is fantastic little place to find the perfect tree.

Taking a little peek.

First we needed to have a little chat with the big guy himself.

Cooper was not in the mood for small talk.

A horse drawn sleigh ride

Face painting. Rudolph and the Christmas Spider????

Nose warming moments with Dad.

Belly warming moments with "smarshmellows"

And setting our perfect tree with two perfect helpers.

Saturday evening we made the drive to Welland and had a sleepover at Nee Nee's house. On Sunday we went to visit Memere and Pepere.
Pepere taking Si for yet another ride.

After our visit we went to Liv's Christmas Open House. Simon was in boy toy heaven.

And Riley partied it up in the "girls club house."

Liv will under go yet another surgery this Friday. They will get the tumor out.....did you hear me universe????? THEY WILL GET THE TUMOR OUT. I am heading down to Hamilton on Friday to be with Chantal and Craig while Liv is in surgery to help out in anyway possible. Please keep this sweet little angel and her amazing family in your thoughts. It's time to kick this tumors butt!!!!!!!

A word of advice.....

....NEVER schedule all three of your kids for dentist appointments one after the other. I thought I would save myself three separate trips to the dentist with the kids and had us all scheduled back to back on Tuesday night. Good planning right? WRONG!!!!!! Two hours of trying to entertain all three kids in the waiting room is pure hell....ask Jason.

I couldn't resist a couple photos of the kids with "very good oral hygiene."

Cooper did see the dentist as well because he has a spot on each of his front teeth that is yellow. I have been doing lots of reading about it and my diagnosis was confirmed, he has an enamel defect. The enamel on his front teeth did not form properly. His teeth are now at a larger risk of decay. We are going to have it fixed when he gets a older, it is an easy bonding of his teeth.

Holiday Charity Event

Riley's school did not do a Christmas Concert this year. I will say as a parent, I was disappointed. As a teacher, I totally understand the huge under taking of a concert in an already hectic time of the year. In lieu of the concert the school did a charity event for Christmas Cheer and the Ghana project as well as a sing-a-long.

I did take three crazy photos of our exhausted children. The 2 hours at the dentist after a full day at school did us all in. AND....I am not holding Cooper in the most flattering position...sorry.
