Lobsters, Crabs and Ducks

We ate yummy lobster...twice. Once at the cottage.

Once at a lobster dinner with a 60 foot salad bar.

Not related to eating lobster....meet the pet crabs: Crabby and Sara. Sadly, they met their demise when Riley and Simon left them out in the sun for the entire day...OOPS!!!! We gave them an ocean burial.

And completely unrelated to the lobsters and the crabs....Cooper having a bath in his duck tub.

White Sand Beach In Canvendish

After our day on the red sand beach we spent a day on a white sand beach in Cavendish.

Playing and digging in the sand.

Napping and self portraits.

A beautiful sunset.

From white sand to red sand...

We spent on day on a red sand beach. I do have to admit that the red sand kind of freaked me out.

Our day at the red sand beach

Walks with Grandpa

Collecting crabs and looking for jellyfish.

We ended taking some of the crabs back to the cottage with us because the kids affectionately named them Crabbie, Rocky and Sara.

Enjoying low tide and the view of the Confederation Bridge.

Cooper having his first dip in the ocean. The little pools from when the tide went out warmed up enough for him.

Hanging out in the tent.

Our Cottage

We rented a three bedroom modest cottage for the week with Grandma and Grandpa. It was steps from the ocean, had a great deck for the kids to play on as well as a lot of open grass for the kids. Sadly, I did not take any pictures of it.

Having a snack...and a beer on the deck.

Colouring on the deck.

Going for a walk on the red sand beach at our cottage.

The view down the beach.

Opening Ceremonies

We arrived in Summerside P.E.I. early enough to hit the Information Center and do a little walk around one of the cute little villages.

We climbed the lighthouse and enjoyed the view.

Off to the opening ceremonies.

Meeting the Canada Games Mascots Abby and Eddy.

Watching the Govenor General come in....or as Riley calls her "The Queen."

The athletes marched in for over an hour. It was a thrill to spot daddy with Team Ontario.

We paid $66.00 for Cooper's seat (money we eventually got back thanks to Jason) so we made sure he sat in it for a minute.

All the athletes paraded in. Time for the show. The show was full of speeches, dancers, speeches, musicians, speeches, blessings and did I mention speeches?

We spent 22 hours in a car, Simon NEVER napped. We go into the Opening Ceremonies and..... you guessed it......

The Summer Games are offically open.

Jason came over to visit the kids and to give them some more Ontario gear.
