Si Guy

We have been noticing that Simon has been drinking a ton and going to the washroom even more. In fact over a 5 hour period he went 12 times!!!!! We have also noticed some zoned out behaviours....not normal for our little non-stop boy. I took him to the doctors on Wednesday morning and the doctor ordered a urine sample to screen for diabetes. Before I even tackle the diabetes issue let me tell you how interesting it was to get a urine sample from a 2 year old. People in the washroom with us must have wondered what's going on when they heard "mommy get your hands out of there, it's disgusting," "mommy I don't want to drink that pee pee from that cup" or "Riley, you drink it." After some laughs we were successful. We will find out in a day or so what the results are....thinking positive....when they come back negative we are to watch him and then determine the next steps. Cross your fingers for our little man.

What else?

DRESS UP !!!!!!!!!

Dance

Riley had her last dance class for this session on Wednesday morning. It was a long and snowy drive....it took us almost an hour to get there, normally a 20 minute drive, but we made it.

Booked

Went to the doctors today and he booked my c-section.....Thursday, Jan. 15th....7 weeks to go.

Baby is still breech...in fact it is in the same awkward position Simon was in...must be another boy, can't figure out the right direction:-)

I have a ton of tests and appointments to take care of in the next couple of weeks...thank goodness for sick days.

Thank you once again Nance for taking the kids for me to go the doctor in peace....I am so thankful for having such great friends.

Don't Try This At Home....

We have been encouraging Simon to get on and off the toilet by himself. He has been sucessful...in his own way. A disaster waiting to happen!

Look mom, I did it!

Santa Parade

We headed out to the Santa Parade tonight in Barrie. Jason had a volleyball game so I bravely headed out on a solo mission. We meet up with some friends, watched for Santa and froze together....although the adults had 'special' drinks to help keep them warm....next year I too will be warm. Thankfully Jason's team ended up winning 3 straight and he was there at the end of the parade to help pack up and get to the car.

Waiting for the parade to start with Devyn

Friday night we had our friends Christine, Drew, Lilly, Katie and Adam over for dinner. As always the kids had a great time together and the adults had some time to relax and have adult conversation.

Thanks Girls!!!!

Two of my most favourite girls took me out last night for my birthday. We had an amazing dinner, drinks (fruity ones for me) and some good girl talk. I was spoiled again with some wonderful and thoughtful gifts. I am so lucky to have such amazing people in my life.

Birthday Celebrations

I am another year older....well technically I still have one more day.

I had a great day today, starting with Simon sleeping in his own bed until 6:15 this morning!!!!! I brought him back to his own bed and we slept there together until 7:30...a great start to the day. When we woke up we found that Jason had already put on one coat of paint on the babies room.

I was made a nice cup of tea and the spoiling began. Riley and Simon both made me pictures and they made a coupon book. It was so cute, they made coupons for all of the things they could do for me....wash my hair in the tub, give me a massage, give me uninterrupted time to watch a movie ...after they go to bed of course etc... The gifts just kept on coming, I got a pair of maternity P.J.'s with the matching baby jammies...I had a pair for both Riley and Simon so I was hoping for another pair. I also got a vacuum....don't cringe...I asked for it..over and over again. My vacuum died about a month ago and I have been using our cleaning ladies and I HATE IT. I vacuum everyday and I need a good vacuum. I got one with all the new bells and whistles..bag less, hepafilters etc...

We then spent some time outside building snowmen, cleaning the van out, taking apart and washing car seats and rearranging the seats in the van to fit 3 car seats. After the kids napped and I grocery shopped we had a yummy birthday dinner complete with a homemade cake. I also got my massage and my hair wash. It was a very nice family filled day.

To top off the day and to spoil me even more I got the Dirty Dancing tickets I hoped for from my mom and a can of paint...I know, I'm a simple person.

Baking my cake

I love nachos...my favourite comfort food...check out this platter

Let It Snow....

We are being hit with a little snow storm. It stated snowing on Saturday and has been going nonstop. The kids were so excited this morning to get out there. Thanks to Jason's height we built a HUGE 9 foot snowman...

A little bit closer....

The painting in the babies room is finished!!!!

Now we have add the chair rail, change the light fixture, add a dimmer switch, buy a lamp, buy a dresser and add the decrative items...YIKES!!!!

Did I say 10 weeks?

We went back to the doctors today for another check up and discussed the actual plan for the birth. Riley was delivered naturally and Simon was a c-section because he was breech. I have been stressed over how this baby was going to come, I would rather give birth to 10 babies naturally before I had another c-section...it was horrible.

This is what he told me...it is my choice but....and there is a BIG but...I would have a chance of rupturing, a small chance but it is still a risk. If I do rupture there is a 40-50% chance of fetal death. I really don't see much choice here. I could NEVER live with myself if something happened and I chose it that way. So it looks like my nightmare will become reality. I will find out in the next 2 weeks the actual date but he said he will book it a week or two early....which only gives us 8-9 weeks left to prepare.....AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I am going to make myself a nice cup a tea, watch Jon and Kate Plus Eight (to feel better about my situation) and try to comprehend the logistics of this..... 3 kids under the age of 4, January, snowsuits, daddy leaves before 7:00a.m., getting Riley and Simon to school, 6 weeks recovery including no lifting (HA HA HA). Calgone take me away!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!

We received an incredible gift today from my cousins. Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness.

Here is team Hubbard trying to assemble it

The finished product.

Thank you Pete, Chantal, Matt, Jody, Josh and Kristen!!! It is nice to have something new for baby number 3.

Night One: Operation Sleep

Well, last night was painless...okay I cheated. Simon made his way to our bed at 4:30 in the morning, I got up and brought him back to his bed...here is the cheating part...I climbed into his bed. Not the original plan but....

We fell back asleep together and I woke an hour later with a sore hip. His bed is harder than a rock!!!!! It is also the coldest room in the house, no wonder the boy doesn't want to be in there, I couldn't stand an hour.

Tonight I have paded his bed with extra comforters and will look for some sort of pillow top thing for his bad. I also added a duvet for extra warmth. I figure if it doesn't work for him it will at least make my sleep better....

Operation Sleep

Tonight is night one of Operation Get Out Of Our Bed. Simon is in for a rude awakening tonight....he has been climbing into our bed in the middle of night to sleep with us. We know that this can't happen once baby arrives so we better get to work. Tonight, one of us will get up and put him back into his own bed. Wish us luck and thank goodness you're not our neighbours as I'm sure it's not going to go over so well.

10 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, we are 10 weeks away from having this baby and we are SO not prepared. Slowly, things are getting done. Jason started to paint the nursery today....

The bottom portion of the wall will be painted a dark chocolate brown. A chair rail will seperate the two colours. I have also found these really nice wall decals, they are circles that come in blue, chocolate brown and tan or pink, chocolate brown and tan....we will wait until baby arrives to see what colour we will order.

The to do list for this week includes:
1. Going the dump
2. Continue painting the nursery....maybe even finish the painting.

We will see how this goes....Jason is out every night this week including the weekend. Update to come.

Happy Rolph

On Sunday Nee Nee, Riley, Simon and I headed out to a place called Happy Rolphs. There is a petting zoo there.....which closed at the end of October...oops. Luckily there was a great playgroud, the bird sanctuary was still in full force and there was a beautiful walking trail.

Some fun at the park

COUSIN PARTY

My mother and my aunt planned a little party for all of our cousins to get together and spend some time just playing and hanging out. It was a great day. The kids played together, painted and did some colouring. The adults spent some time catching up with each other. The food was great and the company was even better.
