Should I stay or should I go???

I have been away from the kids for 24 hours now, a first for me. Jason is in Toronto coaching at the Team Canada Selection Camp and has a hotel room at the Holiday Inn near Yorkdale Mall, I joined him WITHOUT Riley and Simon. I have learned or relearned a couple of things about myself while here....
1. I am unable to nap. The plan was to come and have a nap and relax but no naps have been taken.
2. I am unable to sleep in. Again the plan was to sleep all morning this morning....we both were up by 6:30 (which is sleeping in at our house I guess)
3. I can't afford myself....there's this bag that I really like at the mall....too bad it's $1200.00.
4. I have ADHD, I rented a movie in the hotel and had a really hard time sitting the entire time, even though it was a really good movie.
5. I can still read adult things, I read a magazine cover to cover....did you know Shania and her husband split????
6. It is possible to finish a sentence at the dinner table without being interrupted.
7. Jason and I still have things to talk about...and the whole conversation wasn't about the kids.
8. There is a lot more room in a shower when two little people aren't in there with you.

Riley and Simon are having a blast with Nee Nee at Sherkston ( I have only talked to them three times). When I talked to them this morning Nee Nee suggested that I stay tonight as well.....this is my issue right now...should I stay or should I go????

Under Construction

The building of the beach volleyball court has begun

All of the earth is being used to make a berm on the side of our property

Attack of the Birds!!!

I headed out to the backyard to see how the robins were doing and I came running and screaming back into the house. The cute little robins and their mommy and daddy attacked me!!!! They flew all around my head and into my hair.....freaky!!!!!!!! Needless to say there are no photos and our backyard is now being ruled by the robins. Thankfully we are away for the weekend so with any luck they will move out while we are away.

A Tornado? A Hurricane?

No.... Riley and Simon made their way through the playroom!!!!!

Yard Work

This past weekend was the only free weekend we have until the fall. We tried to get as much yard work done as possible.

Simon helped daddy cut the grass

Riley and mommy planted a small veggie garden

Worked in the garden, added mulch and did some transplanting

Play Time With Owen

We were lucky to have our friend Owen come and spend the day with us on Saturday. The day was packed with outdoor play, snacks and a trip to the park.

Soccer

Riley LOVES going to soccer on Thursday nights. She looks forward to it all week and asks to practice on a daily basis. Here is a photo of the entire Elmvale Soccer Club ages 3-5. Finding Riley is like play Where's Waldo...

Robin Report

Look at how fast they develop...it's amazing to watch!!!!!

Long Weekend

This long weekend we had the opportunity to stay at the Holiday Inn by Yorkdale as Jason was coaching at the Provincal Team Selection Camp. We arrived on Friday night and took a subway ride to the hospital to visit G.G. He is in the hospital recovering from surgery.
The kids loved the 'train' ride.

Saturday the kids and I headed down to the pool and to the kids club.

Saturday evening we went to Yorkdale Mall and to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner

Riley phoning her peeps

Simon hiding from the elephants

On Sunday the kids and I went to the Ontario Science Center for the day. It was so busy there and I was on my own with the kids....I found myself dreaming of owning one of those kiddie leashes that I detest.

Riley in the beaver lodge showing her beaver teeth.

In the evening we went out for dinner with our friend Moira. After dinner we all headed back to the hotel for a swim.

The kids are both so proud that they can float on their backs without any help.

Moira stayed with us and we watched firecrackers from our hotel room, got great massages and even had bedtime stories with Moi.

On Monday the kids and I went to the Toronto Zoo. They loved every minute of it and I was exhusted from pushing that double stroller up and down all of those hills. We had a full day arriving at 9:00 and staying until 4:00.

This is how we all felt at the end of a fantastic and BUSY weekend

Soccer

On Thursday nights Riley is now playing soccer. She was so excited to go and play and maybe even more excited over her new shin pads. Before we left she headed out to the front yard to practice.

We headed off to the highschool in Elmvale for the big game. On the registration form there was a spot for volunteers...I voluntered Jason.....well apparently that means he is coaching. Riley is thrilled to have her daddy as her coach and it so cute to hear her call him coach.

Here's Jason in his first team huddle

Doing drills

Passing the ball

Completely overjoyed to have a soccer jersey

It was a great night! We do have a few little things to 'workout'...like the fact that Riley won't kick the ball at the goalie because "it's not nice to kick a ball at someone."
