You're So Vain...

I recently attended a funeral of a beautiful colleague. She passed way too young and left behind two daughters. These daughters had a picture slide show playing during the visitation, I know it is common for this to happen, but this one really affected me.

There were thousands of photos with her with her children. Thousands. It didn't matter that she didn't look all put together in every single one, she was there smiling along side of them.

I am always the one behind the camera in our family. It is this way for a reason. My insecurities get the best of me.

I think of this slide show often. The beautiful photos, the documented memories, the photographic evidence of their mother.

I am going to attempt to step out from behind the camera. I'm going to try to let go of the fact that whole world may see that I haven't showered (again) or that I am wearing that same outfit (again) and document this beautiful journey I am on with my children.
