Cottage Christmas

In between Christmas and New Years we headed up to the cottage to celebrate Christmas with Jason's family.

The kids quickly zoned in on the loot under the tree.

Riley and Grandma got straight to work making earrings.

The weather was warm, so most of our time was spent enjoying the snow.
Tobogganing

Exploring

Building snowmen

And snowboarding. Riley gave it a go.

Cooper will never be outdone by his siblings

and Simon, well, an obsession was born. I have put my foot down and told him that he still needs to learn to ski but we will spend some of our days on the slopes snowboarding with him too.

What would the cottage be without hallway sliding,

reading

and hockey.

It was a great time. Once again, the best yet!

Christmas Recovery

We took the next few days after Christmas to recover a little.

Some of us were so exhausted that they fell asleep during lunch.

We spent time outside

and lots of time cuddling and playing with the new toys.

A little bit of rest before we headed up to the cottage for a few days.

The OMG I can't believe I'm still posting about Christmas, Christmas Post

Christmas Day was perfect. Absolutely perfect!

We woke up with very excited children at omgwhydoourchildrenwakeupsoearly o'clock.

Santa ate the cookies, drank the milk, shared the carrots with the reindeer and left an essay. That Santa has been watching closely, he even asked the kids to stop picking their noses. What a guy!

Perhaps Simon is a little excited?

The gift opening began. We enjoyed the squeals, the cheers, the thank yous and the I got everything I wished fors.

Then poor Jason became the assembling machine. We learned a lesson this year, made a rookie mistake perhaps, but next year we will assemble everything then wrap it for Christmas morning.

We spent the ENTIRE day in our jammies playing, eating, drinking, eating, drinking, eating and drinking. Do you like Coopers helmet? He does too. He wore it all day. I have no explanation especially since it wasn't a Christmas present.

We snapped our Christmas crackers, and enjoyed a huge dinner with all the fixings.

We ended our perfect Christmas with two birthday cakes for baby Jesus. One was cooked from a light bulb.

We hope your day was as perfect for your family as our Christmas was for ours.

Christmas Eve 2010

Christmas Eve was jammed packed with fun.

Every Christmas Eve the kids open their gifts to each other. This year because of all the festivities we had planned they opened them in the morning.

Daddy got an early Christmas gift too.

We spent the day baking Santa's Cookies.

Playing with Nee Nee.

Then skating with friends at another friends backyard skating rink. Isn't it amazing?

Enjoying food, drinks and most importantly friends.

Once we got home we got in our matching Christmas jammies and attempted a group photo.

We got out Santa's milk and cookies and the carrots for the reindeer.

Had one last check out the window for the big guy.

Read the Night Before Christmas. And snuggled in beds.

Then, we must have been on Santa's nice list because... Santa came to our house!

Best one yet - The days leading up to Christmas

We could not have asked for a better Christmas break.

We have had an adventure. Every. Single. Day. So much fun that this is the before Christmas edition.

Swimming at "our swimming pool" with Ed, Jessica and Jure.

Tobogganing and hitting the jumps.

Watching the movie Tangled, having friends over for dinner, snuggling in bed every afternoon to watch Christmas Specials.

All this in the first few days of our break.

Coming Soon....

A Christmas Holiday blog post.

Our holidays have been fantastic. Best Christmas break yet. Time with friends, time with family, cottage time and quiet days at home together. Amazing.

We are slowly working our way back to reality with birthday parties to plan, winter activities to get into full swing and 13 days as a single parent for me in January.

Be back soon(ish)
