FRUSTRATION and FUN

Thursday was FRUSTRATING!!!!! It started off as a normal morning for us, the kids and I were headed out the door to go to school when Riley had to go to the washroom. Her stool is still pure white but this time it also had blood in it. I have had enough of being put off by doctors, my baby is in pain and her stool is white with BLOOD in it now. WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE PAY ATTENTION AND HELP THE POOR KID!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't want to freak out so I called my voice of reason my friend Nancy and talked it through. I then called Jason and he called in a supply teacher, dropped Simon off at school with Riley's lunch as he would have to stay the day and headed straight to emergency. We waited for 7 hours to see the WORST doctor EVER!!!!!!! He came into our little area and said "I am not a pediatrician, this is not the type of thing I can deal with." He looked at her eyes, taped her stomach and then said that she probably has malabsorption or LIVER DISEASE but we would have to wait for our pediatrician referral. When we questioned him he again said "I haven't thought of these kinds of things since med school." WRONG ANSWER!!!!!!! When we asked how to deal with her pain he said to give her Tylenol every four hours until the appointment.....are you freakin crazy, it will take weeks!!!!!!! So after almost eight hours in emergency we still have a daughter in pain who is pooping snowman laced with blood.

Thankfully, the evening was much better. We went to my school for the Fun Fair. We had a great time with friends, playing games, getting our faces painted and eating cotton candy.
