Riley

Riley has been complaining a lot about stomach aches over the past month or two. We have been to the doctors multiple times but nothing seemed to change for her. The stomach aches have been getting worse and more frequent. She hasn't been eating much of anything. Over the weekend she went to the washroom and called out to me "mommy, my poo looks like a snowman." She was right, it did. It was pure white....weird. We took her back to the doctor and he said that white stool usually mean she has malabsorbtion but can also mean that her liver is not functioning properly, lactose intolerance and a few other scary things that we do not want to think about. We have been referred to a pediatrician for testing. In the mean time, we are to keep a food journal of everything she eats, drinks and eliminates. After talking with a couple of friends, one with a child with a lot of food allergies and one who is a doctor it was recommended that we try taking her off all dairy for a couple of weeks to see if her pain gets any better. This is day two and also the second day of no stomach complaints, she has also started eating again! We hope and pray that lactose intolerance is all it is....the other options are scary.
