Bear Creek Christmas

Jason's school Bear Creek holds a children's Christmas party each year. Tuesday evening I rushed to get Riley from school, got them changed into their party clothes and was back out the door by 4:15. We bought a couple of dresses for Riley to wear to the many holiday parties we have attended and will be attending but she flat out refuses to wear any of them but the "princess one with diamonds."
Before leaving the house I tried to get a photo of them...not much luck....Simon says cheese like he is a Peanuts character.

When we got there it was playtime in the gym. Got to love a girl who runs around the gym in her dress doing curtsies then puts on a hockey helmet and gets in net. Simon, of course, headed straight to the hockey and never left. Our nightmare of becoming hockey mom's and dad's keeps getting closer to reality.

After the time in the gym dinner was served. Pizza, apple juice and ice cream....yummy. All the kids gathered around and sang some Christmas Carols in hopes that Santa would arrive. Then the big guy himself showed up with presents for everyone. The parents are to provide a present for your own child and it must be a book. Our kids books were placed on the opposite side of the tree from Santa so...they were one of the last to get their gifts. They both sat and waited very patiently. Riley being the smarty she is, stood up a couple of times and said "excuse me, Santa, it's Riley, I'm Riley" It was so cute and all the other people around us got a couple of good laughs.
